Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle(President Kim, Jong Sik) said on 23rd (Wed) that its truck ‘Prima’ won the German Design Award 2012 for the first time as a Korean vehicle.

The German Design Award is an internationally renowned award, established by the German Design Council in 1969. ‘Prima’ of Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle and Mercedes-Benz have become the award-winners in the truck design competition.

‘Prima’ has already received the grand award as the first truck maker in Korea from ‘Korea Good Deign award’. German Design award is all the more special since its expert jury can only confer it on products that have previously received other design awards. This ensures that the standard is always extremely high.

Given that it follows such a rigorous selection process, it is called ‘Championship league’ of international design awards.

A highly qualified jury, made up of representatives of Design strictly evaluated ‘Prima’ with various criteria and ultimately decided to award to it.

“We are very proud that Prima has become the first Korean vehicle to win the German Design Award after beating out global premium products” Tata Daewoo said. “We will make best efforts to shape “Prima” as a premium brand in the global market by pursuing innovative design strategy with customer oriented perspective.”
